Albuquerque BioPark

Albuquerque, New Mexico

The relationship between Wildlife Trading Company and the BioPark (Rio Grande Zoo, Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach Recreational and Fishing Complex) began in 1978 when Gerry Ward was hired as part of the master plan team. In 1991 Gerry was asked to manage the small retail store at the Zoo, and the relationship has continued ever since.

Starting in 1995, Wildlife Trading Company expanded the retail program by building a 3,000-square-foot Jungle Shop and an 800-square-foot Out of Africa Shop at the Zoo; a 2,200-square-foot Aquarium Shop and the 800-square-foot Garden. Each of these stores offers differently themed merchandise, with the number of SKUs exceeding 5,000 items.

Albuquerque BioPark draws more than one million guests annually.
